Rob Woolley Captain 2020

A message from The Captain....

To be nominated as the Club Captain by Mickleover Golf Club’s Past Captains is the greatest honour any golfer can achieve, and I am immensely proud to have been chosen to be Club Captain of Mickleover Golf Club in 2020.
A major consideration for me joining the club nearly 40 years ago was that the course was kept in wonderful condition and provided a great challenge for golfers of all abilities. Above all, the officials at the club and the membership made me feel welcome from the first day.
Our management committees have done a great job over the years addressing members wishes and developing/maintaining the course facilities in the best tradition of a members owned club.

Guests consistently tell me how impressed they are with the course and the welcome received from members and officials. Visitors are envious of the package provided by our course, clubhouse facilities and management.
The large range of social events organised throughout the year enables members, and their families and friends, to enjoy activities beyond just golf. I’d like to thank the many volunteers we have in every area of the club for both the expertise they provide, and for the time they give the club for free.
We have worked hard to achieve the unique label of being referred to as the “Friendly Club” and as Club Captain I am looking forward to promoting this in 2020.
The Lady Captain, Janet Grayburn, and I have chosen Rainbows as our charity for 2020.
Rainbows is a local charity that provides care and support to life-limited children and their families, and we hope you will support us in this worthy cause in the many social events taking place throughout the year.
I am looking forward to playing golf and taking part in social and fund-raising events with as many of you as possible in my year as Captain. Please get in touch with me anytime during the year if you want further information or support before taking part in club events.
My warm and very best wishes for 2020.

Rob Woolley

Janet Grayburn Lady Captain 2020

A message from the Lady Captain...

It is a wonderful honour to represent Mickleover Golf Club as Lady Captain for 2020.
The Ladies’ and Gents’ Sections have given me unstinting support in my Vice-Captain’s year, and I received many encouraging comments and acknowledgements throughout and in anticipation of my Captain’s Year. It was a most enjoyable year, however now onto the big one!

I follow a magnificent pedigree of past Lady Captains. I take over that mantle with relish and will do everything to continue that tradition and to be a great ambassador for the Club, welcoming current and new members with integrity and empathy.

Mickleover Golf Club is a vibrant and welcoming club. It has full and varied social events, excellent bar and restaurant facilities. A very well maintained and challenging course supported by extremely competent and conscientious course staff and Golf Professionals.
Our Ladies section is varied both in terms of age and handicaps. In addition, we have craft afternoons, a winter walking group and regular coffee catchups.
I look forward to my journey with a very experienced team, both working voluntarily and officially. I look forward also to supporting our new Men’s Captain, Robert Woolley and to raising considerable funds for our selected charity Rainbow’s Hospice for Children and Young People.
To those yet to be Lady members, it would be my pleasure to show you around our wonderful Club and you may contact me on or call me on 07828180121.
